Al has been photographing subjects professionally for over 30 years. Having settled in Barrington twenty-four years ago, he is best known for his easy style and manner with his subjects. People enjoy the experience and are eager to return. While a camera is his main tool for capturing his subjects, it’s most important to make a statement about his subjects and tell their story.

The first thing we learn about God in the Bible is that God creates. The first thing we learn about humans in the Bible is that we are made in God's image. Therefore it follows, I gather, that humans were and are created to create! Because the notion of 'art' is so intimidating to so many of us in our culture, our God-given nature as creators should be liberating news and an invitation.

As a photographer I love to travel to different places and capture the essence that only exists in that space.  My favorite fine art photography is created in Paris, whose history never ceases to dish up new views, no matter how many times I work there.  The photograph I have chosen for this exhibit was created in the exquisite Notre Dame Cathedral.

As a painter and sculptor my greatest joy is in bringing attention and appreciation to the beauty of creation. I strive to maintain the wonderment and appreciation of our world and to see with fresh eyes always.

God's Presence shimmering in their eyes, I'm humbled and honored drawing and painting people with Jesus graciously gifting a glimpse of how He sees life on earth as it is in heaven. Sensing His Spirit's delight while working in color and line, my prayer is to remain in His love to hear Abba calling, singing and bringing us His holy flow
where
experiences bound by space and time are transformed

Marsha English is a self taught artist that works in many medias such as paint, photography, fabric work, crafts, and paper sculpturing to name a few. “God gave me a ton of imagination and lots of creativity. The best part of working on my art is God and I spend a lot of time together as I work on my pieces. It’s a quiet time for me while my hands are busy my thoughts are available for beautiful conversations with our God.”

As an artist and portrait painter, God gifted me to creatively articulate, through my portraits, an emotional expression of the artists/musicians who have written and performed original songs that have touched my heart and effected my life.

To honor these musicians, and in collaboration with these musicians, the portraits created raise funding for those in need.

God's creation is all around us, and yet we seldom take notice of the harmony these God-given elements provide in infinite variety and proportions. My goal with each painting is to speak the truth and to transcribe the beautiful. It's in these moments of creating I feel His pleasure and purpose in my life. It is even more wonderful when others can share in the experience and be inspired by God's creation through my work.

My passion is to move others, pointing to the forgotten details in life and the beauty of the overlooked.  I am interested in the lives of forgotten women and children, finding beauty in unexpected places, and juxtaposing things that seem to oppose each other.  It is important to me that I learn, experience, explore, and play… that I thrive.

I studied painting with Eugene Hall at the American Academy of Art where I met my wife Valerie. Together we formed No.2 Pencils, a non-profit organization whose mission it is to re-build and fund Ecole St. Joseph in Petit Goave, Haiti. I always enjoy the next challenge partnering with creatives that bring passion and energy to their work

As an artist I am blessed to see the awesome hand of the ultimate Creator every where. I often feel like a child viewing the world for the first time! My life, a journey is always changing. Like a diamond in the rough starts off as a rock. I am chiseled, ground and polished to be able to co-create and shined through with art. I am excited to continue and create!

My soul is seized by the wonders of provocative earth...From the breadth of the skies to the depths of the seas. If, in dipping my brush, I might expose what seems concealedthe majesty of it all, it is not I, but the Creator still. If one peaceful moment beckons belief and a place to imagine a haven of rest, then I have done what I must do.
